Overview:

Theme:

Sunday– There are difficult days ahead. We must trust the Lord at all times and pour out our hearts to Him.

Monday – This world of sin have blinded so many people, however, we have the Holy Spirit to open our eyes to the truth of God’s Word. Allow Him to show us new revelations as He guides us into all truths.

Tuesday – Remember, Jesus is the Light of the world and there is no darkness in Him. Therefore, we must constantly pray and ask God to open our blinded eyes to see Jesus more clearly and begin to live as children of light.

Wednesday – In doing so, this will help to facilitate a strong community of believers working side by side with one another in love. This love will promote the message of the gospel of hope to those whose lives have been shattered.

Thursday – Be careful not to blend the truth of God’s word with our culture while witnessing. If we have compromised the word of God and caused someone to stumble, repent. God will forgive, restore and rejoice over us as we continue to spread the news about Jesus Christ.

Friday – As we desire our inner man to take on the resemblance of Jesus, God will continue to do a work in our hearts that will reflect who we really are on our faces. Let’s shine for Him!

Saturday–

***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.

To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.

The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson

How is Your Spiritual Eyesight?

Are we trapped in our limited ability to only see our circumstances in the natural?  Are we physically incapable of seeing the bigger picture?  Do we focus on our problems and our own lack of abilities to overcome them or do we focus on how big God is and His ability to overcome anything?  What do we see with the eyes of our heart?  We must open our eyes to our spiritual insight.

Through our faith we can realize that God is doing so much more for all of us than we could ever imagine or see through our physical eyesight alone.  We all face difficulties that seem insurmountable.  We often wonder how we will ever get through the day.  We must continually search for God and look through our eyes of faith.  Trust God and all of heaven to show up ready and armed with all of His super natural resources.

If we cannot see God at work in our lives, the problem may be our spiritual eyesight, not God’s power or His willingness to rescue us.  Let us open our eyes that we may behold wondrous things out of the Word of God.  Let Jesus marvel at our faith today and let Him fight our battles with our eyes wide open both physically and spiritually.
