This Week’s Overview:

Sunday   Whether we find ourselves with plenty or in want, as we have opportunity to help others in need, let’s do it with a willing heart.

Monday  It’s true that we live in a reality of being, which can be a threat. However, we must build our hope on things eternal and turn our eyes on Jesus to keep us from all harm.

Tuesday –  God knows and understands us better than we or anyone. When He gives us an assignment of authority to lead, trust His wisdom and don’t be concerned about winning the approval of others.

Wednesday We’re not perfect beings and we all make mistakes. However, Jesus freed us with His own precious blood from the sin debt. Continue to thank and worship God for forgiving us and giving us new life.

ThursdayIn this new life, it’s imperative that we stay planted in our relationship with Jesus. Consequently, we’ll become deeply rooted in our faith. Also, as we are nurtured by the Word of God, our hearts will be changed and others will witness the power of God in us.

FridayLife is not easy, when we are discouraged let’s remind ourselves to be strong in the Lord. Remember, the Master Physician is always with us.

***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.

To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.

The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson

The Eyes of the Lord

Proverbs 15:3 says, “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.”  If God is the Maker and Creator of all and all belongs to Him, that tells us He knows everything about everything He created or ever would be created.

Nothing is hidden from God, be it good or evil.  That is why we are told in the scriptures to fret not ourselves of evildoers for God sees their every thought and every act against His people; therefore, He will reward them accordingly.  God’s eyes are everywhere.  There is no place we can go where God is not.  The eyes of the Lord roam throughout the earth.  Nothing can penetrate His Light for even darkness is Light in His presence.  The eyes of the Lord are everywhere throughout the universe.  Nothing passes by without His foreknowledge of it.

Remember God’s eyes are everywhere. God has spoken; therefore, we are all without excuse and we all will give an account for the life we choose to live be it good or bad.  The Lord’s eyes are on the sparrow and I know He watches us.

“My friends, make time for God every day because He always has time for you.” — Sister Clovia
