Overview:

Sunday –  Jesus rescued us from the penalty of sin that separated us from the Father. Let’s take a part of this great mission rescue by sharing our stories with others.

Monday – Be thankful that the worst errors of our lives were washed away by Jesus’ blood. However, there still may be consequences that we have to deal with. Nevertheless, let’s move on and serve the Lord anyway.

TuesdayWe often want to hurry God to restore us and we think that life operates on our timeline. God will sometimes allow delays so that He can redirect our lives and take us down a different path.

Wednesday God understands our struggles. Jesus is acquainted with our griefs and sorrows. Remember, in our quest to reach souls, let’s not condemn ourselves of our past mistakes. Instead, cherish the fact that Jesus sacrificed His life and forgave us. Let’s stay focused on our assignments and give thanks to God for the victory as we abide in Him.

ThursdayFind our worth in God and don’t compare ourselves with anyone because we are fearfully and wonderfully made to praise Him.

FridayPeople won’t always appreciate our devotion to God and they may be very critical and intimidating at times. God has not given His people the spirit of fear. We must keep our eyes on God and keep moving forward as we purpose to advance the Kingdom.

***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.

To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.

The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson

Twenty Ninth Anniversary of the 5AM Bible Study Ministry, Inc.

What a blessing it is to celebrate 29 years of studying God’s Word, praying for others and praying for our country,  surrounded by people who also love the Lord.

How precious to remember all the years we have left behind, as we welcome each morning at 5AM, each new blessing still to come.  We have studied and prayed together approximately 12 times a week or 624 times each year for 29 years.  That is 18,096 conversations and petitions to God!

With faith, prayers and family, we laid a firm foundation based on 2 Timothy 2:15.  With God’s grace, mercy and blessings, we built a ministry which has stood the tests of time.

The story of our past is now a brightly woven tapestry made in God’s love and joy.  Our souls complement and complete each other as we gather together each morning.

Our hearts still beat as one Spirit and serve one God — Our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

What a blessing to celebrate 29 years of this Ministry!

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it . —  Proverbs 22:6 (ESV)
