Overview/Theme:

Sunday God’s desire for the body of Christ is for us to be spiritually united. We must not keep each other frozen in time. Instead, forgive one another and grow in God’s love.

MondayStudying God’s Word daily will help us to discipline ourselves and allow God to work in us so that our lives are transformed to serve continually.

TuesdayKeep in mind that every good and perfect gift is from God. Therefore, no matter what difficulties we may face during our ministry, we must learn to trust God. He is faithful to work everything out for our good as He provides for our daily needs.

WednesdayIf we become rebellious and  do not keep God’s commandments, we can expect to be chastened. Why? Because God corrects those whom He loves. Let’s be grateful that He is ever present to see our wrongs and gives us opportunity to repent. He is faithful and just to forgive and to comfort us.

ThursdayWe must be sure that we are standing on the sure foundation of Jesus Christ who is our Rock when the storms of life come. Continue to obey His Word and He will provide the support we need in our time of distress.

FridayWe all know so many people who are still trapped by sin. There’s an urgency for them to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. We must truly begin to allow the Holy Spirit to speak boldly through us as we share God’s plan of salvation to set them free. This, my friend is uniting the body of Christ!

***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.

To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.

The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson

A Firm Foundation for Young People

To raise a child who is comfortable enough to leave home means as parents we have done our job.  They are not ours to keep but give them a firm foundation to stand on their own.

Here are three building blocks on which to stand:

  1. 1 Timothy 4:14 instructs us to “neglect not the gift that is in you”.  Don’t compare yourself to others.  Let God help you to become who He designed you to be.  You have gifts and abilities that you have yet to discover and develop, so don’t lose hope.
  2. Proverbs 18:24 tells us that there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.  Your only hope for real happiness is a real, private, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Jesus is like a computer, He enters your life; He scans your problems; edits your tension; downloads your solutions; deletes your worries and saves you.
  3. Isaiah 45:2 reads, “I will go before you and make the crooked place straight”. In other words, you will get through the frustration and confusion you face during these teenage years.  Don’t freak out when you get confused or when things don’t go as you hoped.  Don’t go to Facebook, go to the Good Book and God will see you through.

God has a good life in store for you so go and build it in His grace.

“My friends, make time for God every day so He will have time for you.”— Sister Clovia
