Overview: Our loyalty to God is a test of true love. No matter what happens in life, let’s continue to exalt His name together.

There are many hardships in our world today. However, we must not doubt God no matter how difficult things may seem, instead, by faith trust Him to lift us out of despair and continue to praise Him for who He is.

As the day of the Lord approaches, believers must pull together and encourage one another to live out our faith and finish the race. Just as Jesus intercedes for us, we too must begin to look around for those who are in need and share the love of God by interceding for them by giving the gift of prayer.

Our growth in grace can sometimes take us through an earth shaking process. When we are not as effective in ministry because of sin in our lives, God will break up the fallow ground, so that His word can take root in our inner most being and heal us. God’s word is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Such knowledge should cause us to humble ourselves, repent.  We must be willing to allow the Holy Spirit to guide and keep us on the right path.

Many things in this world could cause us to complain and spend time and energy worrying about everything that is wrong. Instead, we must focus on the wonders of God’s creation.  We can be assured that as long as we remain loyal to God that He will be with us and for us.

***The Scriptures for this week’s devotionals are taken from the THE CONTEMPORARY ENGLISH VERSION (CEV).  Uncompromising simplicity marked the American Bible Society’s (ABS) translation of the Contemporary English Version (CEV) that was first published in 1995. The text is easily read by grade schoolers, second language readers, and those who prefer the more contemporized form. The CEV is not a paraphrase. It is an accurate and faithful translation of the original manuscripts.   To learn more visit The Contemporary English Version Bible.***

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson

  Teamwork

For a year, the leaders of the 5 A.M. Bible Study Ministry have been in training to learn to be on one accord on God’s team.  We learned “two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor”. (Ecclesiastes 4:9)  When we work together we can double our strength and get much done on God’s team.  Teamwork is:

  • The ability to work together toward a common vision.
  • The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward the Ministry’s objectives.

Each member has something unique and special to offer the Ministry.  It is amazing how much we can accomplish when it does not matter who gets the credit.  We learn that the body of Christ is not one member but many.  This is the simplest and clearest statement about teamwork in the Bible.  The body of Christ is a team.  The 5 A.M. Bible Study Ministry is not supported by one person but by all of us.  We are one.  We are strongest working together in unity.

Teamwork makes the Ministry work.  Individually, we are one drop, together we are an ocean.  Our action should inspire to learn more, do more, and become more in the body of Christ.

The vision and mission of the 5 A.M. Bible Study Ministry is “Study to shew ourselves approved unto God; a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth”.  2 Timothy 2:15
