Overview: Jesus IS the debt eraser! All who put their trust in Him are forgiven of their sins. In response, we must all offer our devotion, by living for Him, as we share our testimonies and the gospel with others.

When we reflect on the divine outcome of happy or emotional experiences, this should nudge us toward prayer and gratitude. These are stones of remembrance for us to never forget the faithfulness of our God in our time of need. This should prompt us to continue to put our trust in Jesus for the present and future as we share Him with others.

This committed service will help to facilitate an opportunity to grow a servant’s heart. As we follow Jesus’ example, we should willingly serve with a spirit of humility and not out of mere obligation. Consequently, as we lay down our lives for the brethren, other lives will be impacted in a positive manner for the Kingdom.

We must allow the Holy Spirit to continue to shine through us and give us strength to serve others, regardless of our circumstances or age. In doing so, we may feel as though we don’t always fit in every setting because of our faith, however, we must continue to live godly lives in the presence of all people.

Never grow weary in doing good and remember, we have the opportunity to meet with like-minded believers who understand and will encourage us to stay in the race. Nothing happens without God’s knowledge; He knows that some of these challenging experiences will cause us to draw closer to Him as He tests our faith in dire times.

***The Scriptures for this week’s lessons are taken from the NEW LIFE Version, available SINCE 1969.  The NLV continues to be the most readable and most understandable Bible without sacrificing accuracy. It is not a paraphrase, or man’s idea of what the Bible says. Truths expressed in the original are in no way violated. Leading clergy from most denominations endorse and approve its use.

This unique translation is gender-correct (same as the King James Version). All pronouns referring to Deity are capitalized. Short sentences are used with the subject usually preceding the predicate. No contractions are used. Many paragraphs are preceded with captions which summarize the content. There are no confusing foot-notes. No obscene words are used in the text. Most Old Testament quotations in the New Testament are followed by the reference.

Most words are limited to one meaning – a must for new readers and people learning English as a second language! Example: To read “Paul stood before the court” could mean that Paul stood up first, then the court stood up. NEW LIFE Text would read “Paul stood in front of the court.” The wording “A great storm came up” is never used. The word “great” is reserved for something good. To learn more, visit New Life Version.***

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson   –  Saved to Serve

We are here at 5 A.M. not to be praised on how much we know but to study to show ourselves approved by God as His workmen.  2 Timothy 2:15

We are not here to gossip in the morning, but to lift each other up.  Galatians 6:10

We are not here to absorb the daily news, but to give forth the good news.  Luke 6:38

We are not here to be ministered unto, but to minister.  Mark 10-45

We are not here to be served, but to serve others.  John 21:15-17

We are not here to hinder, but to help.  Mark 14:3-9

We are not here to be a burden to others, but to bear the burdens of others.  Galatians 6:2

We are not here to stand on the side lines and criticize our brethren or co-laborers in Christ, but to get involved in the work of the Ministry and to help win lost souls for Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in 2018.  Mark 16:15
