Overview: We must be thankful for our new life in Christ. Our assignment is to continue in our faith and never neglect to share the gospel with others, so they too may believe and become saved.  We are not perfect and life experiences have left our vessels scared, however, if we would give our brokenness to God, He will heal us. Consequently, others will be able to see the power of God working in us and perhaps this will give them hope in the Lord.

We must never allow ourselves to become prideful or judgmental, because of our new life in Christ, instead, remember when we were the chiefest of sinners. By God’s amazing grace, He humbled us, forgave us and now we are saved. Being humble will allow us to imitate Jesus and lay down our lives for the brethren. However, we must stay in our prayer posture because when difficulties occur, our minds will be set on Jesus and He will give us perfect peace.

Because we live a fallen world and the battles are raging, God will allow us to go through various trials to sometimes test our faith in Him. We must have confidence that God is training us for life. He may have to allow us to go through the furnace of affliction to refine and grow us up spiritually. He wants to strengthen us to be able to endure as a good soldier in His army.

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson   –

Perseverance

When all the world is looming dark and things seem not so clear.

When problems seem to hover around, Lord help us to persevere.

When it seems everything is being tried and there is no way to go.

Just let us keep remembering sometimes the journey is slow.

We may just need to stop and rest along the path we trod.

A time to try to understand and have a little talk with God.

As we gain new strength to carry on without a doubt or fear.

Somehow we know things will be alright with God’s help we will persevere.

Whatever you may call it, perseverance will get you through

And help you do those things which few would dare to do.

“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.  James 1:3-4
