Overview: It is now time for the people of God to put aside our own agendas and walk in the newness of life. If we would be consistent in reading the Bible at least fifteen minutes every day, the Holy Spirit would move us from head knowledge to a heart transformation.  We will no longer have a form of godliness which denies the powers thereof but instead, we will desire to have an intimate relationship with our God, which is more valuable than anything in this world.

God is actively pursuing us through Jesus Christ and He wants us to desire a deeper relationship with Himself. Let’s respond out of an obedient heart and begin to draw close to Him. Past sins, mistakes and/or guilt may sometimes make us feel unworthy to come before a Holy God.  However, we must remember that Jesus paid the penalty for our sins and God has forgiven us. We must be thankful for His grace and forgive ourselves.

Remember, we still may have battles to overcome but God will give us a song of deliverance.  He is faithful to extend His love toward us forever.

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson

The Battle Belongs to the Lord

All of us face various kinds of battles in our lives.  No one escapes problems and challenges, which we often call the “storms of life”.  The good news is that God already knows what He will do when we face difficulties.  He has a plan to bring us victory.  2nd Chronicles 20:17 tells us that we do not need to fight our own battle because our battles belong to the Lord not to us.  All we need to do is take our positions and remain in them until our break through comes.

What is our position?  It is praising and worshiping God.  We praise and worship God for who He is and express our appreciation for the good He has done, is doing, and will continue to do.  Let’s take up our position on the battle field by overcoming life’s struggles through singing, praising and worshiping.

When your enemy presses hard do not fear

The battle belongs to the Lord

Take courage, my friend, your redemption is near

The battle belongs to the Lord

We sing glory and honor and power to the Lord

Praise the Lord for His mercy endures forever
