Overview: When we blink and think of God, we will begin to thank and praise Him for protecting us just like our eyelids protect our eyes. He instinctively watches over us and protects us as the apple of His eye. This personal relationship with God can cause us to become defensive when others reject our faith. However, we must not condemn or become angry. Instead forgive and show them the love of Christ. In doing so, this will allow them to see how we are being transformed into the image of Christ and taking on His characteristics.
Love covers a multitude of sins and our worship will allow them to see Jesus in us. Those whom we witness to may be critical of us, comparing blessings with worldly achievements; however, we must never compare ourselves with them. This is biblically foolish and destructive. Let’s continue to be thankful and content with what God has given us on earth and the promise of heaven. This is the remedy for jealousy. Trust God to provide for all that we need.
Even though, the uncertainties of life can sometimes cause us to panic, we must keep our eyes on God and trust Him to navigate us through the rough waters of life, remember, we are the apple of His eye.

The Apple of God’s Eye
There are a number of biblical phrases that have made their way into our language, but the one in Monday’s lesson “being the apple of God’s eye” is a favorite of mine. Reading it in Monday’s lesson was like receiving a hug from heaven.
During these times of chaos and uncertainty we need a hug from heaven. We are the apple of God’s eye. He loves us so much. He wants the best for us. He showers us with blessings every second of every day we live. Throughout the Bible, we see all the evidence of God’s unfailing love for each of us. Here are a few verses that show us how much God loves us.
- Because we are the apple of God’s eye, He has plans for us. He is always right beside us every single day, guiding us through every trial and blessing we face. (Read Jeremiah 29:11)
- Because we are the apple of God’s eye, He looks out for us every step of the way. (Read Ps 33:14)
- Because we are the apple of God’s eye, we should show Him just as much respect in keeping Him as the apple of our eyes. (Read Proverbs 7:2)
We are the apple of God’s eye
He treasures each of us and that’s no lie
He loves us so much that it nearly makes Him burst
He gives us the strength to go on when things are going the worst.
