Overview: Mortal man faces continual trials in this life. However, those who trust in the power of God’s limitless and lasting love will be comforted. We must remain focused on God’s Word instead of man’s ever changing opinions. God is a promise keeper. Many people in life are broken and hurting, perhaps because they have not experienced the love of God through His people. Let’s find ways to bless others today as we bring them to Christ. We may not be able to change their circumstances; however, we can be a true friend by praying and lending a helping hand.

Remember, whatever trials we face in this life, we must stay committed to the cause of Christ. Warfare is intense but we must stay faithful to the true and living God and perhaps others will be inspired to trust Him also. We have been called with a holy calling, we have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; therefore, we must show our gratitude to God for taking our filthy rags and clothing us with the righteousness of Christ by telling others our story. Remind them that God forgives sins and is able to give them a new heart and change their wardrobe too.

We have a generation of young people today that depend on us to teach them through conversation and demonstration how to face the treacherous road ahead. Let’s ask God for wisdom to help them in ways that will cause them to rely not on man’s ever changing opinion but on His strength to prepare and equip them on their journey of life.

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson

The Ten Commandments for the Graduation Class of 2017

A survey was taken a few years ago revealed that over half of the teenagers could not name even one of the four gospels, that Sodom and Gomorrah were husband and wife and that Moses was the father of Jesus.  Answers like these could be funny but they are pathetic.  Are we preparing the children for the road ahead?

We are raising a generation of Biblical illiterates.  American youth growing up in our scientific age know more about getting to the moon or about computer terminology than they do about the Bible.

We spend thousands of dollars straightening our children’s teeth but we stand by as they develop crooked hearts and twisted lives.  We purchase the latest volume on child care so we can raise children by the book, but we have concentrated on the wrong book.  Then we act shocked when our children follow the systems of the world and do not have the discernment to withstand the deception and temptation of our time.
