DECEMBER 2023 OBSERVANCES

World AIDS Day
Every year on December 1, we observe World AIDS Day to show support for people living with HIV/AIDS and work toward our goal of ending stigma and increasing HIV testing. This year’s theme is “World AIDS Day 35: Remember and Commit” — check out HIV.gov for resources to raise awareness in your community. Show support for people living with HIV by wearing a red ribbon, and explore other ways you can get involved — like using the 2023 World AIDS Day campaign assets on your social media platforms and sharing them with your networks. You can also share our MyHealthfinder materials to encourage people to get tested for HIV and start a conversation with their doctor about testing. Finally, Healthy People 2030 offers resources related to preventing sexually transmitted infections that you can use in your work.

National Influenza Vaccination Week (December 4–8)
December 4–8 marks National Influenza Vaccination Week — an opportunity to highlight the importance of flu vaccination. Get involved by sharing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) resources to help people in your community learn about the flu, and check out our MyHealthfinder resource on how to protect yourself and others. And don’t forget to view and share Healthy People 2030’s objective to increase vaccination rates nationwide.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?  20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV)
