This Week’s Overview:

Sunday   God instituted marriage between man and woman. Their assignment is to bear fruit and start a community. Let’s serve one another, whether young or old so that no one feels alone.

Monday  In our communities, we often face opposition from our enemies. Whether our sin or the sin of others, it can impede relationships.  Let’s allow God to analyze our problems and to help us rebuild our broken lives.

Tuesday –  We live in a fallen world, let’s be careful not to shift our confidence in things that are temporal just to appease ourselves. Instead, trust in Jehovah God for things eternal.

Wednesday God is good and we are commanded to praise Him. If anyone thinks that our worship is strange, don’t worry, praise and serve Him anyway from our whole hearts.

ThursdayGenuine worship and service to the Lord requires that we allow the Scriptures to guide us each day. Let’s purpose to do the will of God and not be distracted by turning to the right or left. Instead, stay focused on our mission to build communities for Christ.

FridayRemember, no matter how difficult the ministry task, God will cause us to triumph over our adversaries! Continue to share the gospel of Jesus with the lost and they too can experience abundant life.

***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.

To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.

The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Sunday, June 14, 2020 – Made For Each OtherGenesis 2:18-24

Our Daily Bread Topic:  Church Life; Marriage

Reflect & Pray

How is it helpful to know that no matter our marital status, as believers in Jesus we’re never alone? How have you seen the body of Christ in action?

Dear God, thank You for creating man and woman for each other and for instituting community so that none of us are truly alone.

Made For Each Other

Monday, June 15, 2020 – How to RebuildNehemiah 2:11-18

Reflect & Pray

What are a couple of “destroyed wall” situations that are troubling you? How will prayerfully asking for God’s help and guidance help you start the rebuilding process?

God, I need Your help. I can’t fix these problems alone. Help me to understand the situation, and then to seek Your help and guidance in resolving the challenges before me.

Is God There?

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson

Will God Accept Any Form of Worship?

Satan is very active within the church and has deceived many professing Christians into thinking that they can worship God any way they like.  In John 4:23-24, Jesus said we must worship God a certain way.  In fact, Jesus said that the TRUE worshippers would worship IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH.

To worship IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH is to declare that God is worthy of our reverence.  We worship God based on the truth of who He is, the truth of who we are, the truth of what God does, and the truth of what is going on in our world.  We do it with a heart inclined toward God and in submission to Him.  We worship God when our attitude, action, and words declare that He is worthy of praise.

In saying, “worship God IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH,” Christ is guiding us to His word in the Bible, which is the only source from which we can learn to worship God the right way.

The 5AM Bible Ministry has set time aside each day to study God’s word and He has shown us how He wants us to serve and worship Him.

“My friends, make time for God every day because He always has time for you.” — Sister Clovia
