This Week’s Overview:

Sunday   Cry out to the Lord in our time of distress. He will deliver us and restore our hope in His timing.

Monday  Trouble doesn’t last always! One day we will have a grand reunion in heaven. Believers can expect to see Jesus face to face and will be comforted in His loving arms.

TuesdayIn the meantime, Jesus told us to occupy until He returns. We sometimes struggle in our efforts to please God. Give Him our failures and He will bring us to spiritual maturity beyond our wildest dreams. Give Him glory for setting us free and fulfilling His purpose in our lives!

Wednesday Spiritual warfare is real! We must stay armed with prayer as we turn our whole hearts to the Lord again and again. He will give us strength, power and grace to endure to the end.

ThursdayWe are more than conquerors because we have been redeemed from the sin curse. Rejoice as we share with others that Jesus promised to come back to redeem our bodies and every eye shall see Him.

FridayThis promise is for all who have cultivated a relationship with the God of our Salvation, Jesus Christ. Precious will be the departure of all those who die in the Lord.

***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.

To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.

The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson

COVID-19 (Christ Over Viruses Infectious Diseases)
Joshua 1:9

The Coronavirus has shut down schools, jobs, airports, the economy and social events, BUT it cannot shut God down.  No weapon formed against us shall prosper.

The world is different today than most of us have ever seen.  But, God is still God.  We don’t know how to walk the fine line between being cautious and living in fear, but God is still God.  We are faced with many choices that we have never had to make before, but God is still God.

God is the best doctor and prayer is the best medicine.  No disaster can overtake us, no plague can come near our dwelling for God shall give His angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways, because God is still God.

Let’s trust Jesus more than we trust hand sanitizers.  Let’s cover ourselves not only with a mask, but also with prayers.  Remember God is still God that’s all we need to know and believe.

“My friends, make time for God every day because He always has time for you.” — Sister Clovia
