Overview/Theme:

Sunday The right way to pray to God is to humble ourselves and surrender our whole hearts to Him in our time of need.

MondayKeep in mind, that we are the salt of the earth and the children of light. Therefore, God has given us an assignment to share our legacies of love with everyone we meet. As we tell them about Jesus, this may give them hope to put their trust in Him also. He is able to bring them out of darkness into His marvelous light.

TuesdayAll that the Father has given the Son, no one is lost. If ever, there is a time that we doubt our salvation and those whom we witness to, be assured that God has not forgotten us. Remember, He loves us so much that He engraved our names in the palm of His hand.

WednesdayThis does not negate the fact that we all have seasons of joy and sometimes we need comfort. However, we can trust God to work all things out beautifully for our good and for His glory in due time.

ThursdayDespite the struggles we sometimes face, we must agree that Jesus’ love flows into our lives every day to give us hope. We all have shortcomings and may still struggle with our past, however, He reminds us that the Holy Spirit will help to mature us spiritually and deliver us from our old nature. In turn, we must share this hope with others who are in despair.

FridayGod’s wonders are pass finding out! He quietly sent His Son to save us from sin. No matter how difficult our season of growing spiritually or ministering to others may be, let’s accept God’s love that sometimes come in a whisper to demonstrate His power working in our lives in unexpected ways.

Saturday–

***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.

To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.

The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson

Let Go and Let God

God wants us to know that it is time for us to let go.

  • Let go of our problems and let God handle them.
  • Let go of our hurt and let God heal us.
  • Let go of our fear and let God sustain us.
  • Let go of our worries and let God bless us.

We want to control so everything happens just the way we want it.  But at the end of the day, we control nothing; it is all in God’s hand.  In fact, God engraves us on the palm of His hand.

God did not bring us this far to leave us.  When we have done everything we can do, that is when God will step in and do what we cannot do.  Pray then let go.  Don’t try to force the outcome, just trust God to open the right door at the right time.

Give it to God and go to sleep!

“My friends, make time for God every day so He will have time for you.”— Sister Clovia
