Overview
Theme: A Father’s Love
Sunday– As we lovingly represent Christ in a spirit of hospitality, others will receive a warm welcome to God’s goodness in us.
Monday – As we do the work of an evangelist, our Heavenly Father doesn’t always give advice that’s easy to follow. We may not understand where He’s leading us but we must trust Him to work things out for our good.
Tuesday – God is omniscience; He loves and knows each of us by name. We must listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit and respond as He leads us to do a specific work for the Kingdom.
Wednesday – Jesus was obedient to the death of the cross. We must have a willing mind and heart to serve God and lovingly set ourselves aside to attend to the needs of others.
Thursday – We will encounter critics as we commit to do the work that God assigns us, however, we must not argue or refute their comments. God will avenge, be purposeful to complete the work.
Friday – Even though we go through difficult experiences with people, remember that our Father’s love is limitless. Nothing will separate us from His love. This is the truth my friend, rest in His love and do the work!

***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.
To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.
The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson
Is God Sending His People a Wakeup call?
Bad things happen to good people and most of the time we can’t figure out why. Once we understand as believers, we have been saved from our sins through the death of Jesus Christ, we can rule out the possibility that God is punishing us. We are His redeemed children and no longer subject to His punishment. Maybe God is sending us a wakeup call.
The Christian life isn’t always easy or pleasant. We have learned most about God and ourselves during our valley experience and not on the mountain top. That is why it is important to recognize your wakeup call as a learning experience and not as a punishment. Correction is needed when we get off course. A wake up call forces us to rethink our priorities. It reminds us what really matters in life.
God loves us so much He takes a constant, personal interest in our lives. He wants to keep us close to Him so we can talk with Him and depend on Him all through our day. Isn’t that the kind of Heavenly Father we long for?
It is time to wake up and get to work. God wants a people with a mind to work.
