Overview: God has placed a high calling on our lives and we must allow the love of Jesus to shine through us. We must never be so absorbed with our own pain and circumstances whether we caused it or not, that we don’t see the needs of others. God will allow us to share our own experiences to comfort them. If the truth be told, many of our personal lives are still in ruins, but God is faithful and can use us as we wait on Him to rebuild the broken walls of our lives. As we learn to pray and spend quality time with the Lord, we will no longer struggle in our walk with Him. In closing, we must continue to become more intimate in our relationship with Christ, then we will discover that we will become more effective and joyous as we lead others in this faith walk to know Him.

Monday, May 2, 2016 – Shine Through – Matthew 5:13-16

Focus: We are saints because God has placed a high calling on our lives. Let’s reflect the characteristics of Christ by allowing the rich colors of His love shine though us.

Scriptures: Philippines 2:15; 1 Peter 2:9

Tuesday, May 3, 2016 – Just What I Need – 2 Corinthians 1:3-7

Focus: Rather than being absorbed with our own pain and problems, let’s look around to see others who are less fortunate than ourselves.  Pray to God to give us ministry opportunities to comfort others in need.

Scriptures: Romans 15:1-2

Wednesday, May 4, 2016 – Out of the Ruins – Lamentations 5:8-22

Focus: Many of our lives are in ruins. Whether we cause it or whether it was a conflict that we couldn’t avoid, remember God is faithful. We must trust Him for the proper time to clear the rubble and rebuild the walls of our lives.

Scriptures:  Psalm 51:12-13; Isaiah 58:7-12

Thursday, May 5, 2016 – Prayer Marathon – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-28

Focus: Many of us struggle to spend quality time with the Lord in prayer. We must not give up our efforts to become intimate with God as we learn to pray.

Scriptures: Psalm 55:17; Luke 18:1

Friday, May 6, 2016 – No Greater Joy – 3 John 1:1-8

Focus: There is no greater joy than to lead others to Christ.  As we open our hearts and homes, let us encourage others to take the walk of faith with Jesus.

Scriptures: Matthew 28:19-20; 1Thessalonians 1:2-10

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson – Colossians 1:12 says “Giving thanks unto the Father who hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light;”

We are saints! Yes, that’s you and me.

We are saints of light to let the rich colors of the spiritual fruit shine in us.

We are saints of light to give a word of comfort, hug, or gift of mercy in Jesus name.

We are saints of light to help in the rebuilding of God’s kingdom.

We ae saints of light called to pray continually to our Father.

No greater joy than this: to be partakers of the inheritance of God as saints of light and to walk in His truth daily.

Saints of the  5 A.M. Bible Study, let’s take up the challenge given to us by our leader,

Minister Nadine Cager, to be the light of Christ and let it shine to lead someone to Jesus!
