Overview: Sometime life problems are so overwhelming that fear grips us. Let’s sing of God’s power and love and allow Him to fight our battles. The fact that many people are looking to idols to satisfy them, just to be disappointed, Christians must live a life that will paint a picture of God’s  love and they will be able to see the light of Jesus in us. As we each realize that God hand picked us to do a specific assignment, we must not complain when others seem to do less. Instead, count it an honor that God chose us to carry out His extraordinary plan.  As we share the gospel about how sin marred God’s beautiful plan for man, we can be confident and rejoice when others accept the fact that Jesus took their place on the cross, was resurrected and they too can have life eternal. When ministry becomes overwhelming, we must allow the Holy Spirit to pray on our behalf because God knows our heart.

Monday, April 18, 2016 – Unconventional Tactics – 2 Chronicles 20:1-13

Focus: When life becomes overwhelming and fear grips us because of uncertainties, let’s sing of God’s power and love. Remember to turn to God to fight our battles for us.

Scriptures: Exodus 17:8-15; Exodus 17:8-16

Tuesday, April 19, 2016 – The God Who Paints – Psalm 42

Focus: There are many people (hungry coyotes) chasing the wind of idols of fame, money and relationships that can’t fill the void in their souls.  Let’s paint a picture of God’s love as we live our lives in a manner that they can see who Jesus really is.

Scriptures: John 6:35; Acts 17:22-34

Wednesday, April 20, 2016 – God’s Way – Numbers 7:1-9

Focus: God has hand-picked each of us to do an assignment. Let’s not grumble because other people seem to have either a less burdensome or a glamorous task. Instead, let’s count it an honor that God chose us to carry out His extraordinary plan.

Scriptures: Proverbs 14:23; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Luke 1:26-35

Thursday, April 21, 2016 – Jesus Wept – John 11:1-4, 38-44

Focus: Sin marred God’s beautiful plan for man. However, Jesus defeated sin and death when He took our place on the cross and was resurrected from the dead. Therefore, we can be confident and rejoice that we now have eternal life in Him.

Scriptures: Romans 8:18; Romans 5:6-21

Friday, April 22, 2016 – The Spirit Delivers – Romans 8:19-27

Focus: When we become too overwhelmed to pray, let’s allow the Holy Spirit to make intercession for us. God hears our hearts.

Scriptures: 1 John 5:14-15; 1 Samuel 1:8-17

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson –

There are times when we will experience heart-breaking sorrow, when we will grieve, and when we will be tested to our limits.  Life can ambush us with overwhelming challenges.  Then we turn to our all-powerful God who specializes in unconventional tactics.

In times of grief and sorrow, God will hold us and rock us and take our grief and make it His own.  When we cry, Jesus cries and when we hurt, Jesus hurts.  Together our Lord comes along side of us in our grief, weeping with us in our sorrow.  He will wipe every tear from our eyes and there will be no sorrow or crying or pain.  All these things are gone forever.

Last week God gave us a rainbow in the sky to remind us that He is never blind to our tears, never deaf to our prayers, and never silent to our pain.  He sees, hears and will deliver us.

Sometimes God lets us hit rock bottom

so that we will discover that He is the Rock at the bottom.
