Overview: Words are powerful, therefore, we must ask God to help us control our tongue so that we don’t destroy relationships. We all go through catastrophic events in our lives and we don’t always get a clear explanation from God why. However, we must trust God’s love in our times of struggle and put our hope in His promises. Also, the only way to find joy and satisfaction is to focus on the person of God, so that when trouble arises, we can trust Him no matter how He chooses to provide whether we understand it or not. Remember, we must always go to God first in prayer, He is our Source. Just as God cares for all of His creation even the animals, we too must pray for wisdom to properly care for and appreciate all that God has created.

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson –

Words, Words, Words

Careless words once spoken can bring grief to heart.

Often time and memory these words can never depart.

Keep watch over your words, for words are wonderful things.

They are sweet like bee’s honey, like bees, they have terrible stings.

A bitter word may hate and instill.

A brutal word may smite and kill.

A gracious word may smooth away.

A glorious word may lighten the day.

Lord, help us so that our tongues will speak words of love,

so that what we say will be your will directed from above.

“Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”  Colossians 4:6
