Monday, October 26, 2015 – Hidden in My Heart – Psalm 119:9-16
Focus: The device we use to study God’s word is not important. However, it does matter that we meditate and pray that God will help us to hide His word in our hearts and apply it to our lives daily.
Scriptures: Joshua 1:8; Deuteronomy 11:18

Tuesday, October 27, 2015 – You Missed the Chance – 1 Corinthians 13
Focus: Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to help us to acknowledge if we have been so critical of others that it discouraged them. If so, we must apologize, especially if we missed the chance to allow them to see Jesus in us.
Scriptures: Philemon 10-18; Acts 15:36-41; 2 Timothy 4:11

Wednesday, October 28, 2015 – Where Is My Focus? – Hebrews 10:32-39
Focus: We must examine our hearts and be sure that our treasures are stored in heaven. We must never hold on to material things so tightly that it hinders us from being Kingdom minded.
Scriptures: 1 John 3:16-21; 1 Peter 1:3-9

Thursday, October 29, 2015 – Don’t Touch the Fence! – Jeremiah 18:1-12
Focus: God loves us so much that he constantly warns us to avoid sin. When we disobey, He has enough pity to correct us. Let’s take heed to those warnings today and repent.
Scriptures: Hebrews 12: 1, 6-13

Friday, October 30, 2015 – The Storms of Life – Mark 4:35 – 5:1
Focus: No one is exempt from the storms of this life. We may not understand why God allow various trials, however, let’s lift up our faith to God and purpose to draw closer so that we can know Him better
Scriptures: John 16:33; Romans 5:1-5

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson –

The Bible Has the Answer

If you desire to hide God’s Word in your heart, read Psalm 119:9-16.
If you harbor bitterness and need to know God’s love, read 1 Corinthians 13.
If you need to focus on eternal things that cannot be taken from you, read Hebrews 10:32-39.
If you need to heed to God’s warnings to avoid the problems that will come, read Jeremiah 18:1-12.
If the storms of life are raging around you, read Mark 4:35-5:1.
The Bible has the answer.
It is the compass and the chart.
You will have the right directions.
When God’s Word is in our heart.

Read Through The Bible

Are the names, dates, and places in the Old Testament a challenge to you? Join us as we encourage each other to read through the Bible by learning how to adjust our reading to fit the many different styles of writing in the 66 books. Fill in the gaps of New Testament questions as you learn essential facts in Old Testament culture, history, and geography. Meet informally on the telephone and share insights that will make the Old Testament as fresh as the daily news headlines. We encourage each other to follow the Our Daily Bread schedule and to keep the pace of private reading so that we meet our goal to finish together on December 31.
