OVERVIEW:

In the time of storms, God is our refuge. Many people may disagree with our faith; however, we must remain gentle lights as we share our testimonies.

Always put God first and desire to keep His commandments to love our neighbor as ourselves, even when it’s complicated.

Let’s strive to be peacemakers with all men as God heals relationships and shows the world the beauty of who we are by not giving in to sin, which will corrupt us, but rather holding on to eternal values.

Monday, November 9, 2015 – Charity Island – Psalm 107:23-32
Focus: No one asks for storms in life. However, it’s then we can gain a greater appreciation for the guidance and protection God provides. Let’s trust God to be that charitable island of refuge as we seek Him to light our way.
Scriptures: Isaiah 43:2; Psalm 46:1

Tuesday, November 10, 2015 – Gentle Lights – 1 Peter 3:13-17
Focus: Reaching out to people who don’t agree with us about Jesus Christ can be difficult. We must be as gentle lights and share our testimony with love, good behavior and wholesome words.
Scriptures: 1 Peter 2:9- 12

Wednesday, November 11, 2015 – Crumbs of Time – Daniel 6:10-23
Focus: Though we may be very busy with worldly commitments, we must never give God our crumbs. Let’s build our relationship by starting our day with prayer and studying His word.
Scriptures: Psalm 55:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Matthews 6:33

Thursday, November 12, 2015 – Of Geese and Difficult People – Romans 12:14-21
Focus: It may be difficult to see the beauty in others, as well as ourselves when we are carnal. We must pray to God for grace and patience to love ourselves and be peaceable with all men. As He redeems relationships the outcome could be a healing for us and the disagreeable person.
Scriptures: Matthew 5:44; Galatians 5:13-15, 2 Corinthians 12:8-10

Friday, November 13, 2015 – The Big Stink – Genesis 3:6-13, 22-24
Focus: Sin may appear to be attractive; however, we must not allow ourselves to be deceived. Instead, let’s remember God’s promises of eternal rewards when we obey His commandments.
Scriptures: 1 John 2:15-17; Galatians 6:6-10

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson
We long to be in the safe harbor of God’s love where the Holy Spirit is our Light and His Holy Word is our Guide. We get up early in the morning to spend time with Jesus so we can shine for Him throughout the day. Our walk with Jesus will be reflected in our talk. When we encounter difficult people during the day, we will love them through God’s eyes and show them His grace. By our walk we can also show them that sin looks inviting and may feel good, but it does not compare with the safe harbor of God’s love.

Let’s walk with Jesus and exhibit the way.  Let’s talk of His Holy Word so others will follow Him today.
