American Heart Month
The American Heart Association sponsors American Heart Month in February to raise awareness about heart health. Check out and share these social media resources from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) to raise awareness about heart disease and how to prevent it. It’s also a great time to explore the Healthy People 2030 objectives related to heart disease and stroke aimed at improving cardiovascular health and reducing deaths from heart disease and stroke. And be sure to share our consumer-friendly MyHealthfinder resources on heart health to help people build heart-healthy habits.
Low Vision Awareness Month
The National Eye Institute (NEI) recognizes February as Low Vision Awareness Month, a time to spread the word about low vision and vision rehab services. Use NEI’s Low Vision Social Media Library to share important information with your networks about low vision, vision rehabilitation, and how people can live independently with vision loss. Be sure to read up on the Healthy People 2030 objectives related to sensory or communication disorders. And get involved by sharing our MyHealthfinder resource for easy-to-understand information on the importance of getting your child’s vision checked.
Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month
Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month in February is an opportunity to help people learn how to build healthy relationships. Use the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) evidence-based teen dating violence prevention model and teen dating violence resources to help spread the word on your platforms. You can also share our MyHealthfinder resources for tips on spotting signs of relationship violence and talking to your kids about healthy relationships. Finally, use Healthy People 2030 to track progress toward objectives related to reducing violence.
National Girls and Women in Sports Day
This year, National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) is observed on February 2 to acknowledge the accomplishments of women in sports and inspire girls and women to play sports. Use these resources from the Women’s Sports Foundation to organize and promote NGWSD activities. You can also learn about the National Youth Sports Strategy mission to ensure all youth have the opportunity and access to play sports. And share our Move Your Way® campaign materials to encourage your audiences to get active.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV)
