This Week’s Overview:
Sunday – When it’s in our power to help those in need, let’s give generously and freely from the heart.
Monday – Remember, Jesus gave His life freely that we might live eternally with Him. Therefore, let’s be careful not to write anyone off as too bad or too sinful to be saved. Instead, remind them that, there’s still space for them in God’s Kingdom if they repent.
Tuesday – We can learn a lot from how God values His whole creation. He cares for and sustains all living things for His glory. We must never worry about our daily staples because God cares for us and He will provide.
Wednesday – Stay focused on our God-given assignments to give freely of our time, talents, and treasures when duty calls. Truthfully, the best thing that we can offer to anyone and everyone is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Let’s carry out the great commission today!
Thursday – We must be vigilant and prayerful when life throws us a curb ball so that it doesn’t get us off track! Instead of becoming self absorbed and begin to indulge in a pity party, start to worship by giving thanks to God for the great things that He’s already done!
Friday – Finally, with the various challenges and battles we face today, look unto Jesus to see us through, however, we must stay focused on our assignments to freely share the gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.
To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.
The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson
Giving Thanks – Staying Home
As we gather around the dinner table to share what we are grateful for with social distancing family members, we may not feel so grateful because of the COVID-19 virus. This pandemic has shut down churches, schools, jobs, airplane flights, the economy, and other events. There will be empty chairs around the table for loved ones who are no longer with us and those who are restricted to travel. No thanksgiving services to give our testimonies on how grateful we are.
How can we give thanks by staying at home? There is no social distancing with Jesus! If we learn anything from this pandemic it is to value the moments, treasure the memories, count our blessings, and God is still God.
Let’s make time each day to realize how fleeting life is and to thank God for each blessing. Maybe this pandemic will teach us to slow down, appreciate what we have and how quickly-in a blink of an eye-it can be gone. Life is a gift and we can be thankful by staying at home during this pandemic and give God the glory.
“My friends, make time for God every day because He always has time for you.” — Sister Clovia
