This Week’s Overview:
Sunday – We often need reminders of how faithful God is. Let’s humble ourselves and thank Him daily for His goodness, greatness, mercy, and forgiveness so that we never forget His benefits toward us.
Monday – Let’s reciprocate God’s love by serving Him and others even if it’s in a low profile manner. Never covet others that seem to have a greater task. Instead, encourage them to be a good steward over their time, talents and treasures.
Tuesday – There are times in life that our past sins may affect our attitudes on how we approach our God-ordained purpose. If this is the case, repent, receive God’s forgiveness and walk boldly in our vocation.
Wednesday – If our sense of exile is a result of bad decisions or hardships, God is so merciful! Prodigal sons and daughters, Jesus’ arms are opened wide to receive us and to heal us. There is much work to be done in His Kingdom.
Thursday – Also, be reminded that God may take us the long way around life to equip us for a tremendous task. Trust His care and guidance.
Friday – Finally, don’t be overly concerned about what people think when we speak the oracles of God. Just speak the truth and God will accomplish His purpose.
***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.
To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.
The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson
Living in God’s Grace and Mercy
In Christ, we have been invited to enter confidently into the Throne Room of heaven and boldly approach God’s Throne that we may obtain mercy and find the grace we need to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16). It is called the “Throne of Grace” because from it flows God’s love, help, mercy, forgiveness, spiritual power and all that we need under any circumstance.
God’s grace and mercy brought us through. We are living this moment because of God. Test after test, we have failed, still God’s infinite mercy remains, and should we stumble again, God’s Grace will see us through.
Grace and mercy are gifts from God.
Grace is when God gives us what we don’t deserve.
Mercy is when God doesn’t give us what we do deserve.
Blessings are when God is generous with both.
Truly, we can never run out of reasons to thank Him.
God blesses us with new Grace and mercy every day.
“My friends, make time for God every day because He always has time for you.” — Sister Clovia
