This Week’s Overview:
Sunday – Let’s be careful not to nibble our way from God’s truth. If we have wandered like sheep, ask God to help us return to the Bishop of our soul, Jesus Christ.
Monday – It’s a fact that the soul is never satisfied. The only joy that we can have is from our ultimate source, Jesus Christ. Let’s trust Him to fulfill our needs and truly begin to experience the light of God’s love.
Tuesday – The prerequisite for this joy is to first, study and meditate on God’s laws daily. As we ponder, ask God to open the eyes of our understanding and He will give us clear insight on keeping His laws.
Wednesday – We must be rooted in the love of God through His Word in order for us to cultivate and grow our faith. Consequently, we will become more effective in sharing God’s truth in love with a world in need.
Thursday – We ourselves are no longer a slave to sin. We have the mystery of Christ in us, who is our hope of glory! As overcomers, let us share this truth with others.
Friday – While witnessing, we may encounter challenging and even scary situations in life. We must not become distraught, instead, ponder the fact that Jesus, the Bishop of our soul loves us and will never let us go. Therefore, we too must encourage others who are in despair to not give up on Jesus.
***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.
To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.
The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson
5AM Declaration
For over 25 years, the Ministry has closed out the weekly study with the doxology of praise proclaiming God’s goodness and grace found in Ephesians 3:20-21. Do we understand and believe what the doxology is saying or are we just reciting it from memory.
Oh, God, give us eyes to see that you are able to do the unimaginable. This week, lets each one of us meditate daily on the doxology so that when we say it on Friday we will know that God is able.
The Declaration
We declare as members of the 5AM Bible Study Ministry that Ephesians 3:20-21 is over our lives. God will do exceedingly and abundantly above all we ask or think because we honor Him. His blessings will chase us down and overtake us. He does it not by pushing us around but by the working of the Holy Spirit within us. Glory to God in the church, glory to God in the Messiah, glory to Jesus our Lord, and glory down to all generations. This is our Declaration.
