This Week’s Overview:
Sunday – God takes care of us. Therefore, we must do likewise and look out for the interest of others who may be in distress or danger.
Monday – Let’s appreciate the brevity of life. Many of our loved ones have passed on. However, if they died in the Lord, one day there will be a family reunion where there will be hellos forever!
Tuesday – God is so gracious and compassionate to meet our spiritual and physical needs daily. Let’s ask Him to give us a heart of compassion to help those who are also in need.
Wednesday – Keep in mind, whatever talents or treasures that we have to give to help advance the Kingdom of God, let’s do it with a willing and cheerful heart. Never compare ourselves to what and how others contribute.
Thursday – Satan is always trying to deceive and distract us by taking our minds off of our mission. Let’s not get caught up with the attractions of this world. Instead, be led by the Spirit of God and trust His Word to help us overcome.
Friday – Be careful in our work assignments not to work just for the paycheck but contrariwise, use our God-given jobs as an opportunity to go the extra mile to share the love of God with those who are in need.
***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.
To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.
The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson
Be a Good Neighbor
Loving your neighbor as yourself is found at least eight times in the Bible. It was so important to God, that He not only repeats Himself, God makes it one of the ten commandments. Jesus coupled the command to love your neighbor as yourself with loving God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. (Matthew 22:36-40)
But loving your neighbor as yourself isn’t always easy. That’s why God made it a command. He knew we would struggle with that instruction. By making it a command, it is actually benefits us. We have to do love our neighbor on purpose. — be intentional about it. Sometimes, most times even out of our own needs.
Be a Good Neighbor
To your neighbors lend a hand.
Show them that you understand.
They have rights we must protect.
Show them kindness and respect.
For your neighbors, try to care.
When they are troubled, help repair.
Lend an ear and listen to them.
If they are worried help them through.
Look after your neighbor’s needs,
And God will reward your deeds.
“My friends, make time for God every day because He always has time for you.” — Sister Clovia
