This Week’s Overview:
Sunday – We must examine ourselves and allow the Holy Spirit to help turn us from any attitudes or actions that do not please God, today.
Monday – Stay in tune with God’s voice as we learn to humble ourselves and obey Him. Having this positive attitude will prevent us from drifting away into danger.
Tuesday – Remember to let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus. We are bound in Him and we are connected to one another. Therefore, anyone who drifts into danger, we, the community will suffer with them. On the other hand, when they recover, we all rejoice!
Wednesday – As we all intensify our prayer life, we can be confident that God hears our faintest whispers from the dome of heaven and He will respond according to His will.
Thursday – There may be times that heaven seems to be silent and that we have been abandoned. Don’t fear because God will never forget us. Let’s not let our irrational fears overtake us. Instead, trust God to give us peace in the midst of our trials.
Friday – In the meantime, stay focused on our ministry assignment as co-laborers with God to speak up boldly about Jesus to those who have lost their way.
***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.
To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.
The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson
God Hears Us!
We know God hears our prayers because He has promised to hear them. Even if He doesn’t always answer the way we think He should, He still hears us. The psalmist declared “As for me, I will call upon God … and he shall hear my voice.” — Psalm 55:16-17
Sometimes God seems deaf to our prayers because we have allowed sin to take root in our heart and sin cuts us off from God. It may be anger, hatred or anything else that we allowed to pollute our soul. We must come to God with clean hands and hearts.
God doesn’t answer our prayers the way we think He should because He loves us and knows what is best. That is why we must seek God’s will when we pray and not just our own. God hears more than we say. He answers more than we ask. He gives more than we imagine but in His own time and in His own way. God hears what is not spoken and understands what is not explained. Let us rejoice always and pray continually.
“My friends, make time for God every day because He always has time for you.” — Sister Clovia
