This Week’s Overview:
Sunday – None of us deserve God’s forgiveness. However, His love for us through Jesus’ blood sacrifice gave us redemption and hope. Our assignment is to lead others to Christ so they too may be able to experience eternal life.
Monday – We may not understand a lot of things concerning God’s salvation plan or the deprivation of mankind. In our quest to repair our own lives and or to figure out the perplexities of other people’s lives, let’s just ask God “one simple question, what? or where? or how?” He will hear our prayers and he will answer. Life’s circumstances can drastically change for you, me and others if we only believe.
Tuesday – It’s true that sometimes life is smooth sailing. Other times it’s raging! We’re living in times where we must trust the voice of our Navigator, Jesus. He watches over us and He will guide us to safety.
Wednesday – God made man and everyone is important. We must not be partial or show favoritism while ministering to the less fortunate. Instead, we must love as Christ loves us
Thursday – New believers need a load of encouragement. Therefore, we must first encourage ourselves, be patient, then allow the Holy Spirit to use us to be a blessing in the lives of new converts. Praise God as they flourish in their faith because it is God who gives the increase.
Friday – Our tongue is a small member, however, it can be deadly! There is much to be shared about the gospel of Jesus Christ but there are times that we have our own preconceived thoughts about life and people. Let’s pray that we will use our tongues to speak wholesome words of life.
***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.
To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.
The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson
Your Mouth Can Block Your Blessing
Did you know you can be your worst enemy? Your thoughts and words can either be used by Satan to hurt you or by God to bless you. Proverbs 18:21 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat its fruit thereof.”
One of the ways that the Bible talks about the tongue, or the words that we speak, is by warning us about the sins of the tongue. Our tongue is one of our most dangerous weapons. In fact, the tongue is the only tool that gets sharper when used. What is worse, our words can reveal the simple nature of our heart. The tongue has no bones, but is strong enough to break a heart. So be careful with your words because a broken bone can heal, but the wound that a word opens can fester forever.
Know when to speak and when to listen. Acknowledge that sometimes the one blocking your way forward is you. Words are seeds. Before you speak, think about what you are planting and growing!
“My friends, make time for God every day because He always has time for you.” — Sister Clovia
