This Week’s Overview:
Sunday – We will burn out if we rely on our own strength while doing ministry work. Continue to read God’s word, pray, trust Him for instructions and He will give us renewed strength.
Monday – There are two ways to life. One, we can change our perspective to eternal things and become fruitful like a flourishing tree or two, we can allow ourselves to become distracted by the material worldly goods of this world which could leave us hollow and barren. Let’s shape our relationship with Christ and thrive in the Kingdom of God.
Tuesday – When we pray about things we don’t understand, don’t become frustrated. Instead, wait for the appointed time according to God’s plan and purpose as He works in and through us for His glory.
Wednesday – We must remember that God will never leave us alone to face our failures. He’s our friend and He will provide help and give us strength to do His will.
Thursday – No matter how disappointed we are with ourselves or our past mistakes, remember, God did the unimaginable by sending Jesus to give us new life. Going forward, we must trust God’s wisdom and not the foolishness of man as we do God’s work in the earth realm.
Friday – The first and greatest commandment is to love God and the second is to love others. We must stop seeking our own gain and begin to treat others with respect. Let’s value our belief system that God loves the world and begin to share the gospel with all people today.
***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.
To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.
The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson
To Err is Human; to Forgive, Divine
This ancient proverb was first said by an English poet, Alexander Pope. It is an eternal truth familiar to all; but, sadly, understood and practiced by few. Although this saying isn’t found in the Bible, it does summarize two important truths from the Bible. The first is a truth about ourselves: we are sinners and we always tend to do wrong. As the Bible says in Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
The other truth is a truth about God: God loves us and stands ready to forgive us when we truly turn to Him in repentance and faith. We know this because God sent His Son into the world to make our forgiveness possible by His death on the Cross. Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins. The Bible says in Colossians that in Christ we have redemption, the forgiveness of sin.
So to err is human because we all do it. To forgive is divine because it requires that we go beyond ourselves and act from a place of greater wisdom and compassion.
“My friends, make time for God every day because He always has time for you.” — Sister Clovia
