This Week’s Overview:
Sunday – We all need human connection. Some people are more needy than others, therefore we must find ways to talk. Ask God how can we be a blessing to someone today.
Monday – We must remember how Jesus sacrificed His life for us to be in a right relationship with the Father. Therefore, this should compel us to share the same love with others in spirit and in truth.
Tuesday – There are many racial, social, economical and educational disparities in our world today. However, we must not be radical, instead, stay calm. If we discipline ourselves to be sweet like honey, God can use us to reach the hearts of hurting people.
Wednesday – I’m sure that we all have unexplained questions for God about evil and the pain we suffer. Be mindful, whatever answer that He chooses to reveal, trust Him for an outcome that will work for the good of us and others.
Thursday – We all must admit that God has blessed us richly. As a result of Him freely giving to us, this should prompt us to dig into our resources to help the less fortunate as we have opportunity.
Friday – Our Sovereign God is Awesome! The immensity of His character as Creator and Sustainer of heaven and earth offers us hope today. Trust Him with the perplexed details of our lives and give Him praise as we serve.
***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.
To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.
The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Saturday, May 30, 2020 – Do Whatever – Ecclesiastes 2:17-25

God, today I place You anew at the center of my living, working, joys, and disappointments, for without You nothing will satisfy or make sense.
Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson
Memorial Day 2020
Due to concerns with the Corvid-19 pandemic, the traditional celebrations have been cancelled this year. Those who have passed away from the virus cannot be honored through traditional home going services. When we cannot come together physically, let’s come together in our own way with powerful moments of prayer and reflections to honor the people who have died from the virus.
On this Memorial Day there are lessons we have learned:
- Life is short
- Death is sure
- Jobs are temporary
- Health is wealth
- Tomorrow is not promised
- Eternity is at hand
- Only God can save
I believe God has given the world the biggest altar call in history. Now is the time to get our hearts right and get closer to God.
