Overview:
Sunday – It doesn’t matter what our nationality or differences are, we must trust the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with all humanity. Now is the time to create harmony and a new humanity!
Monday – We no longer have to be afraid. Call on the Lion of Judah, Jesus, our protector. He will not allow troubles to overtake us.
Tuesday – We must work while it is yet day. Express our love to God by obeying the Holy Spirit when He leads us into our next assignment to do what Jesus would have us to do.
Wednesday – No matter how difficult life seems to be, never give up hope. Reach out to Jesus by faith and He will give us peace to continue on our journey as we serve others.
Thursday – Remember, God loves the whole world. Don’t be afraid of this world’s system. Let’s be sure to abide in God and His Word will abide in us. Consequently, we will be able to passionately serve all nationalities who are living in darkness and again, create a new humanity.
Friday – Hard things in life require that we persevere and this can be challenging, however, the outcome can be rewarding. Let’s not be lazy! Instead, work in the strength that God gives us to accomplish His plan in our lives so that we can glorify Him.
***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.
To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.
The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson
Just a Minute
The Late Honorable Elijah E. Cummings recited a four to six word poem by Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, at his first speech to Congress. The poem had been a great influence in his life. It was also a reflection of what he had achieved within his short time on this earth.
Here is the “God’s Minute” poem in full:
I have only just a minute,
Only sixty seconds in it.
Forced upon me, can’t refuse it.
Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it.
But it’s up to me to use it.
I must suffer if I lose it.
Give account if I abuse it.
Just a tiny little minute,
but eternity is in it.

In honor of the legacy of Honorable Elijah E. Cummings, I will just take a minute and remind you that we have one life time on this earth. It zooms by and it’s over before you know it. Sometimes you will never know the desire of a moment until it becomes a memory.
While you are using the minutes that will eventually make up this day, stop and spend some of them with God. Thank Him for the love, concern, and time He has given and continues to give you.
Remember, God owns our minutes. It is up to us to decide how we use that time. The Honorable Elijah Cummings used his minutes well.
So how are you using yours? Psalm 34:1
*In the book “Dr. Benjamin E. Mays Speaks: Representative Speeches of a Great American Orator,” there is a eulogy delivered by Dr. Mays in which he states that this poem is anonymous.
