Overview:

Sunday    It doesn’t matter who we are or what the world thinks. What matters is the, “I AM” can use us.

Monday – We are born again believers in Christ Jesus through the finished work of Calvary. Jesus conquered sin and death and God gave us peace and grace to become His children. Let’s appreciate nature that sometimes remind us where we were and where we are now.

Tuesday –   We are sometimes tempted to go back to the old way of life because we become bored. If so, repent and begin to trust and depend on God’s Word. He will satisfy our longing souls.

Wednesday Let’s not be naive, little foxes (sin) are crouching at our doors. Trust the Holy Spirit to give us the power to say no to sin. Remember, Jesus conquered sin, therefore, let us live as over-comers.

ThursdayLet everyday be a growing awareness of God’s presence in our lives. He chooses to know where we are, therefore, let’s be encouraged and grateful that He cares. Let us truly begin to live godly lives as we yield to the Holy Spirit.

FridayOn the other hand, if we’ve lost our focus in life, it’s now time to take our eyes off the storm and look to Jesus. He will give us peace in our troubling situation.

***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.

To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.

The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson

Is There Anything Too Hard For The Lord?

Our Lord has a far reach.  He got a long arm.  Numbers 11:23 asks the question:  “Is the arm of the Lord too short that it cannot save?” Jesus leaves the flock of ninety-nine to find the one sheep.  He calls to us:  “Come to me…and l will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

The Bible says God’s reach is so long he can find sinners to save wherever they are.  God is reaching for you.  He is “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)   There is nothing too hard for our Lord.  The cross of Jesus points in four directions to show the long reach of the love of Jesus:

Wide enough to include every human being

Long enough to last through all eternity

Deep enough to reach the most guilty sinner

High enough to take us to heaven

“My friends, make time for God every day because He always has time for you.” — Sister Clovia
