Overview:
Sunday – Through trials and tribulations we grow to know Jesus better. Trust Him to give us strength as we serve and rest in His peace.
Monday – Life can be very uncomfortable, however, we must trust Jesus to be a shield around us in times of trouble. He is our comforter, the lifter of our heads.
Tuesday – Turn our hearts to the Lord as we willingly and faithfully serve Him. He will open up opportunities that we may not feel qualified to do. However, the Holy Spirit will develop our character as we stay close to God and do the work.
Wednesday – The kingdom of God is within us. Therefore we are over-comers. Do not allow ourselves to go back to false places of safety. Instead, repent and ask God to lead us to new life and freedom.
Thursday – We are influenced and even threatened by this world’s system but don’t be afraid of what man can do to us. Focus on God and let’s begin to take risks by standing up together for our faith as we proclaim the victory of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection.
Friday – Remember, don’t put off for tomorrow what we can do today. We must live holy, be watchful and continue to serve because we don’t know the day that Jesus will return.
***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.
To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.
The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson
The Storms of Life
Hurricane Dorian was the most powerful tropical storm on record to strike the Bahamas and is regarded as the worst natural disaster in the country’s history. The hurricane proceeded along the southeast coast of United States and Canada, leaving behind considerable damage along the way.
What about you? Is there a stormy weather raging in your life right now? Where are you finding shelter from the storms of life?
When the storms of life are raging in our lives, we must grab a hold to The Rock—that is Jesus! He is our refuge, our shelter, the only secure safe place. He is the bright ray of sunshine in any storm that come our way.
Don’t let any kind of storm rock your boat. Call on the Lord for strength and support. Remind yourself that Jesus is the Captain of your ship.
“My friends, make time for God every day because He always has time for you.” — Sister Clovia
