Overview/Theme:

Sunday – As we begin a fresh year, let’s allow God to do a new thing in our lives. Praise Him for His faithfulness to be patient with us as He put new wine into fresh skins.

Monday – We must remember that we are God’s messengers in the earth. If we are in a broken fellowship with God, He will chasten those whom He loves. So let’s allow His love message of hope or judgement purify us. Then allow the Holy Spirit to lead us into a righteous path so that we are more effective in sharing the good news about Jesus Christ to others this year.

Tuesday – In order for us not to be self-absorbed, it’s imperative that we set new priorities in order to enjoy the good and practical gifts from God each day. Make the most use of our time by serving God and others.

Wednesday –There are times that we may feel lost or confused and not sure of the ministry assignments that God is giving us. It’s then we must pray and ask Him for wisdom. Get understanding of His way and obey His leading.

Thursday – If we falter, don’t try to hide our sins; instead, open our eyes, acknowledge our mistakes and repent because God sees everything. Remember, God loves us and is willing to forgive us of our wrong doings.

Friday – This truth bears repeating, as we represent Jesus in the earth, we must live our lives as the children of light. Darkness is disobedience, Light reproves it, therefore, let’s obey God and walk in the light of His Word so that others can see Jesus in us.

Saturday–

***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.

To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.

The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson  –

God’s Daily Blessings for 2019

  • Open new doors; new opportunities to serve
  • Open our eyes that we may use these opportunities to bring glory to Your Name
  • Open our hearts to receive what You have for each one of us
  • Open our ears to hear Your voice
  • Open our lips to speak only that which glorifies

We trust in You Lord with all our heart.  We will not depend on our own understanding but rather on Your Holy Word.

“My friends, make time for God every day so He will have time for you.”— Sister Clovia
