Overview/Theme:
Sunday –When the King of glory doesn’t seem to respond to the injustices against the oppressed, remember, that He is still a faithful covenant God! We can be confident that His love and power are not diminished.
Monday – When we are perplexed about life, ask God for wisdom to determine what’s fair, moral, right and wrong. Let’s be discerning and do what is pleasing to God as we honor Him with our lives each day.
Tuesday –Even though we seek the wisdom of God, we still sometimes face unavoidable and painful moments in life, just as Jesus did in the garden of Gethsemane. In our darkest moments, we must trust our heavenly Father to be with us and to rescue us in our time of need.
Wednesday –Keep in mind that God made us relational. In this short life we may have encountered people whom we have wronged. God wants us to use wisdom and put down our pride and apologize to them.
Thursday –Jesus reconciled us to God by shedding His blood and forgiving us of our sins. Let’s reconcile our differences with one another and be united in the faith as we see the day of the Lord approaching.
Friday –If we would only look beyond our limitations, injustices, oppression and the unavoidable, painful moments in life, the King of glory will keep covenant with us and sustain us. Let’s continue to persevere in love as we serve and show compassion toward others as God gives us opportunities.
Saturday–
***The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium. The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV). In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression. Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century.
To this end each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text. The words and phrases themselves grow out of the Tyndale-King James legacy, and most recently out of the RSV, with the 1971 RSV text providing the starting point for our work. Archaic language has been brought to current usage and significant corrections have been made in the translation of key texts. But throughout, our goal has been to retain the depth of meaning and enduring language that have made their indelible mark on the English-speaking world and have defined the life and doctrine of the church over the last four centuries.
The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer. It seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. More about the ESV translation philosophy….***

Inspirational Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson
Our Greatest Desire
David said in Psalm 27:4, “One thing I have desired of the Lord, that I will seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple”. This is an extremely intense verse. King David is expressing to us his life’s desire—the one thing he prized above all others—to be in God’s presence and to behold the beauty of the Lord.
Here is why David, sinful and weak as he was at times, remained in the tender grace of God, a man after God’s own heart. David’s one thing was the Lord. He wanted to know the Lord, to worship Him in all His beauty. David hungered for the Divine presence.
Here is the one thing we crave from God, the one thing we seek above all else. We want the privilege of living in His house, finding the sweet loveliness of His face, filled with all, delighting in His glory and grace. Our greatest desire should be a greater presence of God, drawing closer to Him and enjoying His presence.
Let’s gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and be transformed by it, then go out and show others that beauty.
“My friends, make time for God every day so He will have time for you.”— Sister Clovia
