Bible Study: Week of October 29 – November 04, 2017

FOCUS OF THE MONTH

It’s Harvest Time: Salvation

SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK

(6)  I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. (7)  So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. (8)  Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. – 1 Corinthians 3:6-8 (KJV) (TLB)

Overview: As we commit to studying the Bible daily, we may not understand everything. However, as we pursue God, He gives us clarity, wisdom to understand and unravel the mysteries of His Word.  As we grow in the wisdom of God, we are then able to embrace what is right and obey Him.

It’s imperative that we share with others the story of our salvation. In doing so, unbelievers may repent and call on the name of Jesus and be saved. In our quest to witness to others, we may become afraid if we ourselves are lacking knowledge of who Jesus is. We never want to mislead anyone concerning the gospel of Jesus Christ. If we ourselves have questions about who He is, this could be a test.  Let’s be sincere, honest and open-hearted about our concerns and listen to the voice of Jesus.

Despite how unworthy we may feel to be a servant for Christ, we must continue to follow Him wherever He leads us in ministry. As we tell His story, we must live for Him and not ourselves. We must stay humble and look on the interest of others as we share the love of God.

Again, we are humans and we must not be afraid to share our true emotions with God. When we find ourselves in a crisis, remember, God’s unfailing love will meet us in our pain or loss and He will give us joy through our journey.

***The Scriptures for this week’s lessons are taken from the THE LIVING BIBLE (TLB). The Living Bible is a paraphrase of the Old and New Testaments. Its purpose is to say as exactly as possible what the writers of the Scriptures meant, and to say it simply, expanding where necessary for a clear understanding by the modern reader. To learn more, visit The Living Bible.***
