FOCUS OF THE MONTH

It’s Harvest Time: Salvation

SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK

(26) And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; (27) And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. (28) For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. (29) But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come. – Mark 4:26-29 (KJV) (LEB)

Overview: When we were young many of us had sibling rivalry. Our parents taught us to forgive, reconcile and to love one another. God expects us to obey this great commandment today. We must serve Him and others in love and not grudgingly.

Oftentimes, God may give us a ministry assignment that is very difficult or mundane, however, it may be a test of our faith and love for Him. When a kind act is done among the least of our brethren, it touches the heart of God. This could be Jesus in disguise.

There are times when people and situations can overwhelm us. however, we must continue to share our faith and never doubt God’s ability to see us through.  As we obey His instructions during this time of wilderness, Jesus will quench our spiritual thirst. Remember, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.

The gift of Jesus is exceedingly better than anyone or anything that we could ever imagine. As thankful as we may be for God’s love and desire to give back to the kingdom, we must rest in the fact that Jesus is our ultimate fulfillment.

We must not grow weary in well doing. God gives us seasons of plenty and when times are scarce, He will provide. Therefore, let us work and save while we are able to do so and share what we can with others as the Holy Spirit guides us.

***The Scriptures for this week’s lessons are taken from the LEXHAM English Bible (LEB).  First, the LEB achieves an unparalleled level of transparency with the original  text because the LEB had as its starting point the Lexham Hebrew-English Interlinear Bible and the Lexham Greek-English Interlinear New Testament. It was produced with the specific purpose of being used alongside the original language text of the Bible.  Second, the LEB is designed from the beginning to make extensive use of the most up-to-date lexical reference works available. Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson   – Harvest Time

The law of harvest is to reap more than you sow.

Sow an act and you will reap a habit.

Sow a habit and you will reap character.

Sow a character and you will reap a destiny.

Sow the good seeds of righteousness and you will harvest a crop of love.

Sow the seeds of goodness and you will harvest faithful love.

Sow the seed of salvation and you will reap a lost soul.

Jesus said “… lift up your eyes and look on the fields they are ripe for harvest.”  Let us get ready for the harvest.

Plow a little further.

Dig a little deeper.

Sow a little greater.

Pray a little harder.

Love a little sweeter.

Calling all laborers to the harvest festival!

LET’S INVITE THE WEARY & BURDENED TO THE

HARVEST FESTIVAL
