Overview: Spiritual warfare is intense, therefore, Christians must make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace so that Satan won’t divide and conquer. Our past mistakes may have us in a place of self -pity; however, Jesus who is our Shepherd has rescued us from the thickets of life and we do matter! We must keep in mind the examples of biblical characters and family members who endured the test of time with God on their side. Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith and we must keep our eyes on Him during our trials. Don’t forget, we are God’s creation and He values us, we should never lower our standards and put on a facade to win the approval of men. Instead, let’s obey God, do our assignments in secret and God will reward us openly. Many people in this world are still trapped by Satan; Jesus came to lay down His life for humanity to redeem mankind from the sin curse. Let’s be willing to go the extra mile in the spirit of love as we share the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are lost.

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson

God’s Army

We are soldiers in the army of God.  The Lord Jesus Christ is our Commander-in-Chief.  The Holy Spirit is our Code of Conduct.  Faith, prayer, and the Word are our weapons of warfare.  We have been taught by the Holy Spirit, trained by experience, tried and tested by fire.

We are volunteers in this army, and we are enlisted for eternity.  We will not get out, sell out, be talked out or pushed out.  We are faithful, reliable, capable and dependable.  God needs us to go to the battlefield.

When Jesus called us to His army, we had nothing.  If we end up with nothing, we will still come out ahead.  We will win.  Our God has and will continue to supply all of our needs.  We are more than conquerors.  We can do all things through Christ.

We are soldiers in God’s army, marching heaven bound.  Here we stand.  Are we ready to go to the battlefield for the Lord?  Marching song:  “Onward, Christian soldiers marching as to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before!”  Our Marching orders: “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.  No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. 2 Timothy 2:3-4
