Overview: We are so valuable to God that He sent His Son to redeem us. However, we may feel worn because we live in a fallen world, and we face many harsh trials. We must hold on to the promises of God as we witness to others about our faith and await the return of Christ. Let’s maintain an attitude of gratitude for the inner peace Jesus gave us for recognizing that He is the only way to the Father through His death and resurrection. As we follow Jesus with our whole heart, God will give us a new perspective as it relates to people and things that keep us from advancing the Kingdom. Let’s continue to deposit into our spiritual bank account and draw near to God despite our trial. The dividends of God’s grace will be available when we need to make a withdrawal.

Thoughts from Sister Clovia Thompson – We have a “bank account” that is filled with spiritual resources and wealth. Let’s take an audit of our spiritual bank account for the New Year.
- Our greatest asset in our account is our value to God. He paid for us by the precious blood of His Son, Jesus.
- Our greatest guarantee in our account is to hold on in faith and rejoice until Christ returns.
- Our greatest cosigner in our account is Jesus who offers everlasting life as we make deposits to enter into the joy of His salvation.
- Our greatest check and balance in our account is to allow Jesus to take priority over everything else.
How to do we build up our spiritual bank account and live debt free without the hassle of bills while trying to save enough to get through hard times?
Let us deposit Matthew 6:19-21 into our spiritual bank account that tells us not to store up treasures on earth that will be destroyed, broken or stolen but make daily deposits and store up treasures in heaven where God’s love and grace are available to us to enjoy daily with interest.
As we close out every week with the doxology in Ephesians 3:20-21, we will have more than we can ask or imagine according to God’s power that is at work within us.
